We’re celebrating Autumn with the launch of a brand new collection of hoodies and beanies which some might say is more than enough celebration for one day…. But not us. We’ll celebrate all day long if we can. So…. Here’s a Top Ten list of some awesome things to do this autumn in Ireland, in addition to checking out some exceptional new hoodies ;)
Pick + Carve a Pumpkin
Anyone who says pumpkin patches are for kids hasn’t been to a pumpkin patch. Choosing and then carving a pumpkin is an exercise in very careful decision-making and absolute creativity. No-one can tell us otherwise. There are loads to choose from across the country like The Farm in Co. Cork or Tinahely Farm in Wicklow. Grab yourself a hot chocolate while you’re there and you’ve got yourself one hell of an afternoon.
Head to a Walking Festival
There are plenty going on across the country this time of year including the Annascaul Walking Festival in Co. Kerry, Wee Binnian Hillwalking Festival happening this weekend in Co. Down, or the Burren Peaks Walking Festival. Most cater to all abilities so no matter your fitness level or hillwalking experience, there’s something for everyone.
Check out Howth Head
The heather on Howth Head is gorgeous at the moment, with most still in bloom. Take a cliff walk out towards the Baily Lighthouse and back, or if you’re feeling adventurous, tackle the full Bog of Frogs loop walk, taking you all the way around Howth Head, where you can stop off for a bit of lunch before the train ride back! This area was recently named one of Lonely Planet’s Best Running Routes in the World!
Go to Cork Jazz Fest
Make Life Richer with a weekend full of music! Head to the Cork Jazz Festival happening October 24th to the 28th in venues across the city (pop into Mahon Point and say hi while you’re there)! The line up is always spectacular and this year includes aural treats like Martha and the Vandellas!
Go Whale Watching
Autumn is the perfect time for whale watching in Ireland with loads of species passing through Irish waters. Between August and January, expect to see Minke, Humpback, and Fin whales as well as Common Dolphins. The best spots for seeing these magnificent creatures are typically in the West of Cork, Co. Kerry, Donegal, Mayo and Dingle Bay.
Get Cultured
Culture Night happens only once a year across the country with loads of locations opening their doors for an evening of free entertainment celebrating the arts, heritage and culture of Ireland! This year it takes place the evening of September 20th so wrap up, grab some pals and explore your city like never before!
Go Camping in style
There’s nothing like wrapping up nice and warm and taking a little Autumn break out of the city. We’ve got a great list of incredible glamping sites across Ireland for you to snuggle up in as the autumn weather starts to cool things down! Book in for a night or two, escape the hustle & bustle and maybe even squeeze in a hike or two while you’re away!
Bathe in the Autumn Colours
The change of colour in Ireland’s forests and woodlands is so beautiful, you’d be an absolute crazy person to miss it! Head out for a gentle inner-city park amble, or check out some longer forest walks. Wherever you go though, we’re confident your body, soul and mind will get a positive boost from a little forest-bathing!

We’re losing count at all the incredible cafes that are popping up across the country. We’ve made some lists of our absolute faves across the country and more specifically in Dublin and Cork but if you follow your nose around the country, you’re bound to come across some incredible cafes and roasters, ready to warm the cockles of your heart with a stellar cup o’ joe. Grab a book and settle in for the afternoon!
