Gym Plus Coffee, the Irish athleisure brand, has hit a major milestone crossing its one millionth customer order in Ireland. Launched just 7 years ago in 2017, Gym+Coffee is Ireland’s largest athleisure brand focusing on sportswear, gym wear and leisure wear. The company has a number of websites and 7 physical retail locations serving customers in more than 80 countries. One million customer orders in Ireland alone is a massive milestone for the company.
Gym Plus Coffee celebrated the milestone by surprising one of its customers in the flagship retail store in Dundrum Town Centre this week. A live saxophone player, DJ, confetti cannons and balloons showered Leonie Dennison who unknowingly became Gym+Coffee’s millionth customer. A shocked Leonie said “I can’t believe it! I love Gym+Coffee, I’ve been following it online for years and love popping into the store. But just can’t believe I’m the millionth customer. Just in shock!”. Leonie was gifted a €1,000 gift card for Gym+Coffee merchandise. The company also invited its first ever customer to the party who ordered from the website on the company’s launch day in January 18th, 2017 and one of the brand’s VIP customers who has ordered more than 100 times.
Hitting this milestone is a massive achievement for an Irish brand, only 7 years old, in a competitive space. CEO and Co-Founder Niall Horgan said “We have been so lucky over the last 7 years that the people of Ireland passionately support local businesses and have shown us such massive support. Hitting our millionth order in Ireland is honestly hard to wrap your head around when you think that there’s only 5 million people total here, and on average we see almost 2 items per order”.
“It’s been a rollercoaster journey since starting out with one product and no customers 7 years ago to where we are today. We’ve had some really challenging moments but to think there are almost 2 million Gym+Coffee items in circulation in Ireland is absolutely crazy! It’s still an amazing feeling when we see somebody proudly wearing Gym+Coffee out and about.”
Gym+Coffee is powered by commerce platform Shopify, and is one of Shopify's largest Irish customers. Gym+Coffee also has its sights set on growing the international side of the business and now boasts some high profile retailer partners across the UK and beyond. Niall Horgan added…
“It’s been amazing to scale the business to where we are in Ireland but our ambition is to replicate that across the world. While the UK was initially a more challenging market to enter, we’re now seeing really positive signs with the online side of Gym+Coffee being up 20% year on year in the UK. We also introduced our wholesale channel last year and within 9 months have added over 30 wholesale partners across the UK including some big name brand partners like Very, Debenhams and Next. We also have just closed our first deals with distribution partners in Asia and the Middle East”.

This Celebration Sale kicks off at 1pm today, March 21st, set the alarms!
2024 is an exciting year for Gym+Coffee with lots of business development and exciting campaigns planned. G+C has struck a new partnership with Lifestyle Sports where G+C products are now available for sale in Lifestyle stores and online. Community initiatives are at the core of the brand’s mission and their 2nd annual Make Life Richer Awards campaign kicks off this month.
